Vision
our
a space for creativity, wellness, & community
Believe it or not, we are all creative. The Lord, our God, is The Creator (Gen 1:1) , and since we were made in His Image (Gen 1:27), that means creativity is in our DNA.

We started a community that promotes nurturing the artist within holistically by focusing on the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual (P.I.E.S). Engaging in creative pursuits can be deeply therapeutic and rewarding. It can help reduce stress, increase confidence, and give one a sense of growth and fulfillment and in essence establishing a healthy lifestyle that supports our overall wellbeing.
We need more opportunities for reflection, relaxation, and self-expression
allows a person to express themselves and tap into their imagination.

We view art as an expression of ideas and emotions that reflect the human experience, society, and culture. It requires a personal experience, process, and creative power. It helps us understand ourselves as well as the world we live in. It allows us to view life from a different perspective. It also allows for an honest exchange of enlightenment and entertainment that breaks down barriers, shapes social change, and creates community. , Art is necessary, important, and we need it in our everyday lives.
We are here to support you on your journey as you evolve into the artist you were always meant to be!

The last few years of undergrad were stressful. The program I was in no longer existed, practically all the faculty quit, and I didn't know where my future was headed. After graduating, I was offered a job in education. I loved education my whole life, but up until this point, my college experience left me feeling jaded.
Although I was grateful for the opportunity, my first year (and subsequent years) was extremely difficult. I poured everything into my job so I didn't have anything left for myself. I was stressed and overwhelmed most of the time, and it didn't take long before I began experiencing burnout. I was able to mask it for a while but it began to affect my personal relationships, my overall health, and my eventually my artistry.
There were many other factors that contributed to my overall unhappiness, but one thing was for sure: I was losing myself; so I took a step back. This allowed me to focus on my healing, wellness, and most importantly, my relationship with God. Building a personal relationship with Him allowed me to find my way back to me. It took some time but I was able to quit bad habits, accomplish small victories, and begin The Rustic Newbie.

I made this space for anyone who needs a community grounded in faith, wellness, and art.
